These short-haul operations concentrate on freight movements generally within a 500-mile radius of the regional terminal, and are designed to meet the standards of both the customer and Heartland Express drivers.

* Minimum age 23 years old
* Must have 1 year of OTR experience in the past 3 years
* No more than 4 moving violations in the last 3 years
* No more than 3 minor accidents in the last 3 years, No DOT accidents
* No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 5 years
* No felony convictions in the past 10 years
* Must have 1 year of OTR experience in the past 3 years
* No more than 4 moving violations in the last 3 years
* No more than 3 minor accidents in the last 3 years, No DOT accidents
* No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 5 years
* No felony convictions in the past 10 years
Heartland Express Offers
* Average 2000 - 2200 miles per week for Regional, 2200 - 2500 for OTR
* Newer fleet - 2007 and newer - International
* All 10 speed transmissions
* Paid expenses for Orientation
* Vacation pay is calculated at average pay for the past 12 months
* Insurance starts after 90 days of employment
* 95% No Touch, 85% drop and hook
* Detention pay
* Extra stop pay - $15
* Rider Program after 60 days
* Paid weekly - direct deposit, check, or comdata
* Newer fleet - 2007 and newer - International
* All 10 speed transmissions
* Paid expenses for Orientation
* Vacation pay is calculated at average pay for the past 12 months
* Insurance starts after 90 days of employment
